The movie features Chris Evans as Steve Rogers (Captain America), Sebastian Stan as his friend Bucky Barnes, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull, Stanley Tucci as Dr. Abraham, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, and Tommy Lee Jones as Chester Philips among others.
This movie is a period piece from the World War II era and it is pretty cool that Joe Johnson has made sure that it has a “Raiders of the Lost Ark” feel to it. Steve Rogers is a lanky dude who has nothing going for him but guts. His only aim is to join the army and serve his country. After many failed trials, Steve gets signed up for a program where he acts as a guinea pig for an experiment that aims to enhance physical attributes. He then undergoes a drastic transformation and comes out as a handsome hunk. Captain America has to then fend off against an evil Nazi organization headed by the Red Skull who wants to bring the apocalypse.

Captain America: The First Avenger really stands out as a superhero movie, easily beating its contemporaries such as The Green Lantern and even Thor. One of the nicest about this movie is the look of the film. Like all of Joe Johnson’s movies, the production is state-of-the-art.
Chris Evans does a really nice job in this movie. Besides his innocent, charm demeanor, he also brings muscle to the movie; a lot of it. It is insane how buffed he looks in the movie. Hugo Weaving is awesome as always and very convincing as the Red Skull. Both Chris Evans’ thin version and Red Skull look very real. The special effects team has done a commendable job.

One of the things that we were worried about was how were they going to get past the cheesiness of a real soldier deciding to dress like that. We are not going to go into details here, but they did a really good job of making it convincing. One of the interesting things is that even though the movie is about America, it isn’t too patriotic; it’s not shoved in your face.
The only criticism is that the movie seems a bit cheesy and corny at times. It is also a bit slow at some parts and it seems there could have been some more action in those scenes. Also, the first half of the film feels like its own movie, which is very good. And the second half of the film seems like a completely different movie which wasn’t as good as the first-half but still a lot of fun.
All in all, this movie is worth the watch, and keep following H4T
